Jose Garcia Murcia IU-Greens candidate for mayor of Lorca has stressed the need to give voice and decision making to the sports fabric, the neighborhoods, the districts, professional and the athletes themselves in the sports policy and for this purpose it has pledged to regain autonomous body which eliminated the PP in 2010. That is recovering the Municipal Council of Sports and Games.
Regarding the management of public sports facilities have been criticized and denounced the agreement on July 30, 2014 signed the City with the Royal Spanish Federation of Volleyball for the management of the Centre Beach Volleyball, whereby the City Council, IU-Greens judgment, is clearly harmed by assuming maintenance costs, while the Federation itself sports management reserves.
In addition, the agreement establishes for 25 years, so it is very questionable as IU-Greens.
In another vein Jose Garcia Murcia has committed to increase the subsidies starting clubs and execute without delay to encourage the work they carry out.
He has also spoken of the outstanding athletes of Lorca and has undertaken to adopt a plan to support them in collaboration with private contributions through sponsorship and advertising.
Finally he rescued the old project to build a "green corridor" between Lorca (Barrio de La Viña) and the Sports Complex of the Torrecilla to facilitate pedestrian and bicycle access to it.
