Jódar Ruiz explained that this new building has a total area of ​​1,563 m2 distributed over a basement, ground floor and two floors, which house a large multipurpose hall acts, 6 rooms for the development of courses and workshops, as well as a lounge, multipurpose room and offices for groups and care units and citizen service.
Recall that this facility replaced the previous facility that was seriously affected by the earthquakes of 2011. It is a modern infrastructure, which incorporates a much more efficient use of energy and water thanks to its ventilation and air conditioning systems with waste outside air.
It is also equipped with a home automation system with centralized management and computerized controls to analyze consumption.
This new facility is named after Francisco Mendez, who donated the land for the construction of the civic center for the residents of the neighborhoods of San Cristobal and San Diego.
Work to build this building, which have been executed by a company Lorca, they involve an investment of over 950,000 euros, and also saving the Consistory only rents 27,600 per year.
These facilities now house the headquarters of the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca, and in the near future, also host to neighborhood associations "Rabaleros", "Del Barrio" as well as the Club of Pensioners "San Cristobal".
