Councilman City Council Emergency Lorca, Juan Miguel Bayonas, reported the State Meteorological Agency, through the National Prediction Center issued a bulletin warning of today and tomorrow on prediction of adverse weather phenomenon due to high temperatures.
Juan Miguel Bayonas noted that according to the Meteorological Agency Guadalentín Valley, Lorca, Águilas and Vega del Segura are on orange alert for high temperatures expected to reach 40 degrees.
The alert will begin on July 7 at 13:00 hours and will end on the same day at 20:00 hours.
From City of Lorca, as measures to prevent heat stroke by high temperatures, especially in the elderly and children, it indicated avoid direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day, to help our seniors living alone;
avoid sunburn by applying sunscreen;
avoid physical activity in the middle of the day, drink water frequently, cover their heads with hats or caps;
avoid hot foods and slow digestion;
wear sunglasses, do not consume alcohol, increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables, as well as using lightweight clothing and footwear.
