St. James Lorca returns to normal four years after the earthquakes that collapsed part of the structure (06/07/2015)

"When on May 11, 2011 came the earthquake that struck our city of Lorca, 40% of the splendid neoclassical temple of Santiago was destroyed.

With these words expressed his joy the pastor of St. James of Lorca, Eduardo Sanchez Carrasco, finished the celebration of the Eucharist of blessing the temple that took place last Friday.

Presided at the Cardinal Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Madrid, Mons. Antonio Maria Rouco Varela, as the reconstruction of Santiago were paid thanks to the economic contribution of Spanish Episcopal Conference (CEE), during his presidency.

In celebration the Bishop of Cartagena, Mons. José Manuel Lorca Planes was also present, together with the pastor of St. James, the Vicar General, the Vicar of Lorca and numerous priests.
