The Cabinet has approved a proposal of the Ministry of Culture and Spokesperson, a grant of 950 012 euros to the cooperative teaching of St. Francis of Assisi Lorca to conduct rehabilitation works in the San Francisco College of Assisi, annexed to the convent church of San Francisco, located in the historic and artistic Lorca, and that was affected by the earthquake of May 11.
The actions focus on the monastery complex of San Francisco, developed around two cloisters, the main entrance facade is organized in three parallel bays from the church.
The church and convent of San Francisco starts in the XVI century and the action focuses on the part made in the eighteenth century.
It is a work included in the Master Plan for the Recovery of Cultural Heritage of Lorca.
Of the total budget, which amounts to 1,913,687 euros, 1,212,112 euros are eligible costs for the Community will provide the 950 012 euros approved today.
The rest is financed from the compensation from the Insurance Compensation Consortium, other grants and equity.
The Master Plan for the Recovery of Cultural Heritage of Lorca, approved by the Cabinet on October 28, 2011, provides complementary to those contained in the Royal Decree-law 6/2011, of 13 May measures, and 17/2011 from October 28 to repair damage caused by earthquakes.
