More than 233,000 drivers on this route will benefit from integrated action on a stretch of 5 kilometers, including an extension of the platform and improvement of drains
The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, accompanied by the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, today attended the inauguration of the reconstruction of the pavement of the RM-D3 road connecting the hamlet of La Hoya Lorca to the center city ​​of Lorca, through a link with the N-340, in the vicinity of the city.
The budget for this work amounts to 554,745 euros.
Barnabas said: "With this renewed road infrastructure is advanced in a backbone road traffic primarily the center of Valle del Guadalentín, which is located La Hoya, which is one of the districts most populated Lorca due to its important agricultural and industrial activity, especially in the food industry ".
This action "was necessary" because of the high uptake of this traffic via third level of the regional road network, along which more than 233,000 vehicles a year and many heavy vehicles engaged in agricultural activity.
"For 640 users that run daily by the same will be a significant increase in road safety and driving comfort," said the counselor.
The improvement is mainly driving the upgrading works of the firm of RM-D3 in a length of 5 kilometers in length, which involved the implementation of a new layer of hot asphalt and a small expansion of the platform in concreting shoulders.
We also noticed the alignment and improvement of drainage, which is given a higher hydraulic capacity, and the replacement of a pipe water supply, improving other essential public service.
Finally, the work has been completed with the renovation of the existing signaling pathway and development of cleanup.
