The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, met at the forward command post of the operation to control the fire in the Sierra del Almirez of Zarcilla with the President of the CARM, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, and the Government Delegate in the Murcia, Antonio Sanchez-Solis.

The three governments have agreed about the coordination and the tireless work of the various bodies that are participating in the Plan Infomur as the factors that have helped to stabilize the incident.
The mayor said that "this fire is a tragedy, but a tragedy that could have been much more disastrous not involve as many professionals and the means to contain the fire."
In this sense, Jódar stressed that "we will continue working in the coming hours, control and subsequently extinguish this fire that has already taken more than 300 hectares of forest. The mayor wanted to congratulate again "all professionals, bodies and emergency teams which have once again proved their worth and commitment to an emergency of this magnitude."
