The General Plan of cleansing and purifying of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment, which has led to Murcia autonomous region to be leading the field of water treatment in Spain, continues its development in the works the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Ramonete (Lorca), which are in progress and is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
Water CEO, Andres Martinez, who yesterday visited the works accompanied by members of Lorca Municipal Corporation, said that "in the plan have been achieved levels of population connected to wastewater treatment systems water above 99 percent of the population. However, in order to achieve better goals, continue to execute actions in order to treat all waste water even in small towns. "
The action will allow wastewater from towns Ramonete, Las Lebrilleras, priests and Calnegre tips, with a population of about 6,000 inhabitants, can be purified and reused, meeting the requirements of Royal Decree 1620/2007, of December 7, establishing the legal regime for the reuse of waste water or, failing that can be discharged to public water meeting the limits set discharge parameters.
Investment in Ramonete WWTP is 1.9 million euros, the contract period is 13 months and is co-financed by the ERDF of the European Community.
