Pedro Sosa Martínez, councilor of the Municipal Group Lorca IU-Green considers unfortunate that after the huge investments that have been made in the city for urban regeneration plans (works under the EIB loan) after the earthquakes of 2011 , no one is giving proper maintenance of new green areas, specifically in the neighborhood of Alfonso X and Perez Casas, where you can see planters overflowing with weeds and palms, that despite the good intentions of some neighbors that irrigate with their own means, they have dried.
Special complaint deserves the judgment of Pedro Sosa collapse of a palm tree in the neighborhood of Alfonso X. This fact undoubtedly follows succeeding if could cause serious risk to pedestrians and users of public roads, among which are children playing in around and they fail to perceive the danger.
In that sense, IU-Green calls for urgent review of planted following works in wooded areas to avoid the danger and on the other hand have the necessary measures for better conservation.
In this situation has already been denounced by the association of neighbors, astonished look no opposition from the Councillor for Parks and Gardens, Eulalia Ibarra, who is not taking any measures to settle this problem, except the media propaganda.
We must remember that economic amounts allocated to these projects allow the perfect adaptation of green spaces and planting trees.
However, the result has been the loss of much of the existing trees before the works, without its replacement has satisfied the expectations about it.
Finally, Councilman Sosa reiterated the need that his group observed to make an audit of the investments that have been made in the districts so far, namely La Vina, San Jose, Alfonso X and also under way such as San Diego and Barrios Altos.
