On Friday September 4th, representatives of the PSOE attended a meeting convened by the associations of residents of the districts of watering places, Puri and listening.
The meeting, in addition to local political parties, were invited the Community Irrigation Lorca and the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, with the intention of giving explanations to the neighbors about the route of the pipeline that will run from Cerro Colorao to Totana, and on the construction of rafts and pressure regulation.
At this meeting, the main actor should intervene was the Segura basin which, despite being invited in a reliable way, in an act of total disregard these affected residents and farmers, did not appear at that meeting.
Antonio Navarro has reported on the "bloodiest" final conclusions of the meeting noting that "it is confirmed that after a modification of the initial project that nobody understands, that pipeline will pass through the land of the consolidated Lorca irrigation, and may only supply irrigation 30% of the irrigated, leaving more than 7,700 service hectares, as the current project does not include the construction of 6 rafts of regulation and pressure, or 3 lifting points that are absolutely necessary to service these lands.
The socialist mayor warns that "will give the paradox that will irrigators that despite the pipeline passing through their land, they can not use due to lack of pressure."
Therefore, from the PSOE report that "we will not allow this grievance also unprecedented, and so far each irrigation sector has been modernized has full service from minute one occurs".
The socialist mayor pointed out that this situation has already been denounced by the Community Irrigation Lorca and the Municipal Socialist Group in recent days, and we proposed, which were building pipe sections, with rafts corresponding to these sections.
Thus, each sector will be completed giving the full service.
For all these reasons, and because we can not allow this insult to farmers Lorca, who would pass the water through their land, unable to use it.
From the Socialist Party, we will bring a motion to the next Full Council of Lorca, to be held in late September, defending the need, they will build the pipe sections with their rafts.
Likewise, also we introduce a motion in the Regional Assembly for curb this monumental blunder.
