The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar has reported that the city of our city will form a Working Commission for Reception of Syrian refugees in order to channel and manage the reception and integration of citizens of that country that the municipality will house.
This is the main agreement reached at the meeting held for that purpose by the Standing Committee of the Board of the City which was held yesterday afternoon at the Palace of Guevara.
This entity, which will have its first meeting in the coming days, will be chaired by the Mayor, and integrate, in principle, to the mayors of Social Services, Fátima Mínguez, and Citizen Participation, Maria del Carmen Ruiz, as well as Red Cross, Caritas Welcomes Murcia, track, representatives of political parties, and technical specialists from the departments of Social Services and Citizen Participation.
The mayor explained that "we are talking about an issue of utmost importance internationally. This is a major humanitarian issue to which manifests from the international community to citizenship, we must all pitch in to help. Syria suffers Crusaders conflicts that result in real massacres, these refugees seeking protection in the European Union where they are fleeing the horrors of war. Nothing is more cruel, heartbreaking to have to leave your land, leaving part of your family watching barbarism reduces your country to ashes and planting of corpses. "

To address this situation all the administrations we will coordinate to face the challenge of hosting and social integration of these people.
We know that next October 8 will be known officially the number of Syrian refugees that Spain will receive, and from this moment how many of them will be informed definitely come to Lorca.
Regionally, the City Council has already held a first working meeting with the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities for the status of the matter.
In any case Lorca host the refugees concerned.
We are waiting to know what material support will establish Brussels to host countries.
The meeting of the Standing Committee decided to link in this process oenegés and social groups with experience in such matters.
This is an issue that requires citizen participation and for which we will ask for help from the whole society.
In this regard, in addition, the City will make available to all Lorca a Solidarity Portal on the municipal website so that all citizens who wish to collaborate in the process of reception and integration of Syrian refugees, can do so by providing housing host and contributions of any kind (goods, clothing, furniture ...)
