A total of 24 young people between 18 and 24 from Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Spain participate from 14 to 21 September in the youth exchange 'SOS Community', which takes place in the Youth Resource Centre and is included Lorca within the European program for education, training, youth and sport 'Erasmus +'.
The general director of Youth of the Ministry of Culture and Spokesperson, Francisco Sanchez, and the councilman of Youth of Lorca, Augustine Llamas, today visited the young people selected and recalled that "activities like this allow participants to interact and approach different cultures of their peers, thus encouraging debate, solidarity, respect and tolerance. Moreover, this event is unique in that it is young people themselves who choose the topic you rotate and, this time, it is the sustainable development".
This exchange takes place in Lorca under the slogan 'SOS Community.

We are young and we care about our future ', and its objectives include promoting the active citizenship of young people in building models of sustainable development, increase their knowledge about alternatives for sustainable development and awareness of the different communities and societies based conservation of ecosystems.
It also seeks to promote cultural diversity and participants learn about themselves, to share their ideas and viewpoints in a multicultural environment and discuss their concerns about the environment, society, the model of development, sustainability or work.
Francisco Sanchez added that "this exchange, which serves for young people improve their English skills and encourages the learning of other languages, will be used by the participants to develop ideas and concrete products to improve their hometowns and return them more sensitive to the need for sustainable development and, in the future, to also sensitize their environment. "
This project is developed by the nonprofit Intercultural Cazalla Lorca organization dedicated since 1995 to the field of non-formal local and international education as well as to promote and support volunteering, through funding amounting to 13,718 euros it has received the European program 'Erasmus + Youth'.
Cazalla Intercultural Association is composed of about 30 members aged 14 to 30 years.
Of these, about 15 voluntarily cooperate assiduously with this entity in the performance of activities specially aimed at young Moroccan, Ecuadorian and Spanish nationality and who have a low or medium level studies.
Its main objectives are combating discrimination, promoting intercultural dialogue, fostering and promoting youth participation and cooperation in youth exchanges, the European Voluntary Service, youth initiatives and other projects under the Youth in action
Besides hosting the 'SOS Community' project, the Youth Resource Center of Lorca was also recently rehabilitated through the 'Youthmade' project, developed within the European Voluntary Service and funded by the 'Erasmus + Youth' program with nearly 24,000 euros.
This activity took place last June and her 21 young people from seven European countries (Poland, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Romania, Finland and Greece) participated.
