The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar has reported this afternoon in Room Consistory Lorca Councils will have its first meeting the Working Committee created for the reception of Syrian refugees in our city.
It will be chaired by the Mayor, and integrate the councilors of Social Services, Fátima Mínguez, and Citizen Participation, Maria del Carmen Ruiz, as well as Red Cross, Caritas Welcomes Murcia, track, representatives of political parties, and technical specialists from the departments of Social Services and Citizen Participation.
Francisco Jodar explained that this Working Committee was created in order to channel and manage the reception and integration of citizens of that country that will host this county.
Also, to put on the table the topics and exchange views.
This is the main agreement reached at the meeting held for that purpose by the Standing Committee of the Board of the City which was held last September 15 at the Palace of Guevara.
Lorca Mayor noted that since the Working Committee will begin work immediately, showing solidarity and committed attitude.
Lorca is willing to help in any way necessary to make the city an opportunity, home and future site for these families fleeing war.
Jodar has stressed that this is an issue that requires citizen participation and for which we will ask for help from the whole society.
In this regard, in addition, the City will make available to all Lorca a Solidarity Portal on the municipal website so that all citizens who wish to collaborate in the process of reception and integration of Syrian refugees, can do so by providing housing host and contributions of any kind (goods, clothing, furniture ...).
