More than 2,000 youth have participated in the 'Lorca Free Racism' project developed by the Cazalla Intercultural Association, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Spokesperson and the city of Lorca.
For 17 months, young people have learned to avoid the so-called "invisible racism ', who occurs in their everyday environments.
The general director of Youth, Francisco Sanchez, and the councilman of Youth of Lorca, Augustine Llamas, attended the completion ceremony of this experience, which has received funding Active Citizenship Programme of the European Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 to close 150,000 euros.
"Thanks to this experience and the various activities of living and training which involved young people and educators, has been working on eliminating prejudice and positively value the differences," said Francisco Sanchez.
Seminars for trainers and activities as a coexistence in which 150 young people participated, has worked values ​​education, and created environments in which teenagers take decisions together and actively participate in society.
It has also promoted activities to prevent and repudiate all violence, and share their concerns and views with other young people in a free, productive and enriching way.
The general director of Youth concluded that "from the Autonomous Community work closely with local authorities and associations and social groups to promote positive values ​​among youth and encourage greater social participation, such as 'Lorca Free' initiative that has just ended."
