The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Councillor for Education and Universities of the Autonomous Community, Maria Isabel Sanchez-Mora, today visited the new facilities of the Institute of Secondary Education "Ros Giner", rebuilt after the earthquake of 2011, and in which more than 850 students have started their classes.
This center will now become one of the most modern and best facilities in the Region of Murcia.
The Minister of Education and Universities highlighted the work of all workers and technicians who have intensified the work during the 13 months that the work has been executed.
He explained that since the Ministry have worked to initiate educational activities in the new facilities and alter as little as possible the start of the course for students Lorca.
Francisco Jodar said that with the commissioning of the new center, Lorca already has one of the institutes with the most modern facilities in the region.
Thus, more than 866 students started the course last Friday at the new school, in addition to the second Bachelor students who already started the course last September 17.
The new center, which has three levels, has a total floor area of ​​4,530 square meters, of which 4,239 are useful.
The ground floor is distributed with two workshops, two classrooms of plastic, two computer rooms, library, two music rooms, multipurpose room, canteen, secretariat and address as well as a hall of 340 square meters.
The first floor has 14 classrooms and staffroom, while the second houses six classrooms, two laboratories, two classrooms of support, two unfold and four departments.
All plants have female, male and toilets for the disabled.
Investment in this new educational infrastructure has been 3,879,260 euros.
This new project is to reiterate the firm commitment of the regional government with the city of Lorca, which continue to drive performance and building new educational infrastructure that will be released in the coming months.
