The Governing Council has authorized the contract drafting and execution of the works for the urban renewal of the neighborhoods of Los Angeles, Apolonia and Alameda de Cervantes and adjacent urban spaces of the city of Lorca, with an investment total of 10,521,585 euros.
The aim is to regenerate the neighborhoods most affected by the earthquake, for which the integration of each neighborhood will encourage the provision of infrastructure to encourage commuting and comprehensive accessibility.
These projects also seek to achieve maximum integration of nature in the city by the concept of urban landscape, upgrading infrastructure and to contribute to energy saving.
The investment will be distributed in the neighborhoods of Los Angeles and Apollonia, with an operating budget of 5,982,716 euros, and the Alameda de Cervantes, with 4,538,869 euros.
Performances will be funded by the European Infrastructure Bank (EIB) under the loan to the Community for the reconstruction and repair of public space and infrastructure of Lorca after the earthquakes of May 11, 2011.
Urban renewal in these three districts is part of the second agreement between the Community and the City of Lorca, which also includes the intervention at Eulogio Periago, Santa Clara Avenue, the avenue Europe and adjacent areas, street and neighborhood Abellaneda San Cristobal, the Avenida Juan Carlos I and adjacent spaces, the Virgen de las Huertas-Santa Quiteria and the neighborhood Cristo Rey-Health.
In total, nine performances of the second agreement involving an investment of 38.6 million euros, against the EIB.
