The Joint Commission, established by Royal Decree-Law 6/2011 on measures to repair the damage caused by earthquakes Lorca May 2011, decided in its meeting today a total of 117 cases, of which It has resulted granting aid worth 542,527 euros.

On this occasion, it has approved a block grant to housing reconstruction amounting to 380,373 euros;

rent subsidies amounting to 25,490 euros (and other 27728.33 for further extensions of rental);

by common elements, amounting to 33,793 euros;

repair, for 74,349 euros;

and aids for goods amounting to 729.11 euros.

The cases resolved by the Joint Commission now total 16,001, a total of 16,099, representing 99.39 percent of the global, with an economic amount awarded to date amounts to 78,582,016 euros.

The meeting today was chaired by the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, and was attended by the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and other representatives of the three governments.

Of total aid to housing, 33,678,240 euros were for repairs;

23,447,779 euros for reconstruction;

14,804,108 euros for rent, 7,830,363 euros for commonalities and 337,640 euros for the replacement of goods.

These figures were provided during the thirty-eighth session of the said Committee, held today in Lorca, which has the task of assessing and quantifying the aid granted to individuals by virtue of applications submitted by lease, reconstruction, rehabilitation or repair of houses that constitute the habitual residence, and for the replacement of household necessities.

In that committee they have approved the criteria that has to accomplish a work that has awarded a grant to apply for extension of implementation period (around the same time that was originally granted), and the requirements that must be met by family to request an extension of rent for a period equal to the initially granted.

Another important aspect discussed in it, and of vital importance to speed up the payment of aid, is the renewal of the agreement between the three governments, which could be paid before the end of the year, and that would solve the specific incidents that may have come up with some neighbors of the population.
