It is a performance with a length of 1.5 kilometers
The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, through the Directorate General of Highways, has tendered, with the publication in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU), the construction of the new road that will connect the neighborhoods of Apollonia and San Diego Lorca, for the first installment of Central Ronda Sur in the city.
The Director of Roads, Jose Antonio Fernandez said the new road "is a cornerstone for urban structuring of Lorca, as it will connect the east and west of the city."
He explained that the route runs from the old N-340a Lorca at the entrance to the east of the city, in the neighborhood of Apollonia, until it joins the motorway RM-11 west.
This action, which will have an estimated 10,805,155 euros Community funded through a loan from the European Investment Bank and an execution period of 18 months budget, shall act as Lorca ring road, linking the east with the South of the city, where a densely populated agricultural area.
Fernandez stressed that "the procurement of works is processed on a competitive and open, giving it a new face increment formula" for what is assessed at 50 percent economic proposition and 50 percent of technical conditions of the (constructive memory, lead time, plan of quality assurance, additional safety measures and environmental).
The deadline for submission of bids is 11 February.
This is the first installment of Central South Round Lorca that will have an urban character with a length of 1.5 kilometers, on which is projected a dual carriageway with two lanes of 3.5 meters wide each, separated by a median.
It will, on both sides of the roads, with sidewalks of 1.50 meters wide and 1.5 meter bike lane.
The installation of street lighting and landscaping to the throughout its route is also planned.
Functional and geometric characteristics are the urban road, level with the intersections by roundabouts which are five in total.
The first, elliptical, it is located at the intersection with the N-340a road, and the rest of roundabouts are distributed along the kilometer and a half of the track and are circular.
This first section of South Central Ronda has two distinct subsections.
The first one, with north-south arrangement significantly unites the first two roundabouts, at different levels across the railway line Murcia-Aguilas, determined by means of two viaducts, one for each carriageway.
The second subsection, with east-west layout, links from the second to the fifth round, the last of the San Diego neighborhood.
Central Round
This project is the first of four sections consisting of the execution of the Central South Round Lorca, which has a total length of 4.4 kilometers and runs from the N-340a to link the west with Highway RM eleven.
By agreement between the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure and the City of Lorca, it is for the Highways implementation of sections 1 and 2, and the other two to the Consistory Lorca.
