The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, said today that the second tranche of the south-central Lorca "round will significantly improve traffic flow in the city, as it enables a new road route connecting the district of San Diego Rambla de Tiata by building a new bridge over the river Guadalentín ".
Barnabas, accompanied by the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Director General of Highways, José Antonio Fernández, today presented the draft of the second tranche of this road, which is worth over 5.6 million euros and that "will extend the first route of the road, which is in the bidding process with a budget of over 10.8 million. "
These activities are funded by the Community by a loan from the European Investment Bank.

This second stage involves the construction of a dual carriageway road-a sense-lane connecting the roundabout opposite the sports complex Philip VI, in San Diego, with Santa Clara Avenue, passing over the Guadalentín river with a bridge more than 117 meters long.
These characteristics of the track, the provision of a median of 1.5 meters in width, two outdoor sidewalks 1.5 meters each and two bike lanes, one in each direction of 1.5 meters are added.
The project also includes the replacement of the affected services, gardening, trees and lighting the entire stretch of action.
The performance has a total length of 422 meters and will have a deadline of 12 months.
