The Councillors for the "Health and Consumer Affairs" and "Social Services" of the City of Lorca, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Region of Murcia, installed an information table on 31 May at the Mall of the Constitution in 11 hours to 14 hours, during the celebration of World No Snuff.
It is intended to send a positive message to smokers, informing them of the benefits gained from quitting smoking, and breathing air unpolluted by the smoke of snuff, both at home and in public.
In this vein, the theme chosen to celebrate World No Snuff 2008 is "Where not to breathe smoke good atmosphere."
The objectives pursued by this initiative are to highlight the benefits to health, has to breathe air unpolluted by the smoke of snuff, to inform the public of the harmful effects of consumption of snuff for smokers and nonsmokers, raise awareness among smokers of the importance of respecting smoke-free areas, promote smoke-free spaces, especially in the hospitality industry, to inform smokers that quitting is possible, to help reduce smoking prevalence in the Region of Murcia prevent the use of snuff among young people.
Lorca City Council planned to mark the World No Snuff, a series of actions and aims at the partitioning information on snuff for non-smokers, young people, parents, women, smoking cessation guides, fans , stickers, coasters, candy and the exchange of a white carnation for each cigarette that people walking nearby table is smoking.
