The director of the Institute for Youth, Veronica Lopez, accompanied by the councilman of Youth council of Lorca, Joaquin Ruiz, today visited the Labor Camp Coy (Lorca) where for the month of July a group of young people participate in promotion programs sociocultural for different sectors of the population: children, youth, women and seniors.
The activities in this field of work began last July 16 and run until the 31st of this month.
During that time, 13 youngsters, aged between 18 and 26, and from different regions such as Madrid, Andalusia, Asturias, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Navarra, Basque Country and Valencia, perform cultural activities.
The Youth Hostel 'Casa Grande' in the town welcomes the participants.
Volunteers prepare, conduct and evaluate a series of cultural activities and performances geared to different segments of the population of Coy.
With children, the youth will work to establish a summer school to teach school support, moreover, leisure activities and free time, a fair play, sports and computers.
For the young people will develop other cultural exchange, a festival of music, computers, visits, workshops, excursions and activities with the Youth Association.
With women, will launch local cuisine workshops will participate in the daily work of women Coy (preparation of textiles for industrial weaving rugs), a meeting of international cuisine, joint activities with the Women's Association, craft workshops in bakeries The locality and computer science.
Finally, seniors, intergenerational workshops will be developed, championship games and computer cards.

The oldest Workcamp Region
Working Field Coy began his career in 1982 becoming the first international work camp in Murcia.
In its early years the main activity involved the excavation of the settlement was Argaric located in the "Cerro de las Viñas."
Subsequently there were several editions until 2006, which focused on the restoration of facades of Coy.
In 2008, it returns to the Coy Field Work with the new approach to implement programs of cultural activities in the locality.
