The Ministry of Education, Training and Employment has issued its annual Awards III to encourage reading in its modality for schools, entitled "create readers," three schools in the municipalities of Murcia, Lorca and Torre Pacheco.

It has also recognized the work of ten students of Murcia and Lorca, including animation in this initiative reader, in the form "I read and enjoyed", addressed to the school.

The Education Minister, Constantine Sotoca, recalled that the intent of this annual competition is to promote reading from an early age in order to consolidate the habit among children and help in this way, to shape a better society formed in future.

The awards form "create readers' recognizing the efforts of schools to promote among students a taste for books and knowledge.

This section includes three awards for public and one for concerted, endowed with 2,000 euros per site, for the purchase of material for classroom libraries and an accrediting board.

In this section, the first award was for the CEIP Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, de Murcia, the second for the CEIP Villaespesa of Tercia (Lorca), the third for the CEIP Ramón Gaya, Bacons Bridge (Murcia), and the award of the concerted, cooperative for the Virgen del Pasic, Torre Pacheco.

Students awarded

The modality "Leo and I enjoy" rewarded with a lot of books worth 150 euros and a diploma to the winning students, who must demonstrate to have read at least seven books on more than one area of knowledge.

This section was awarded first prize Dolores Martinez Albuquerque, CEIP "Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente" in Murcia, the second, Ana Pérez-Chuecos Sánchez, CEIP "Villaespesa" in Tercia (Lorca), and the third Mitzy Soria -Galvarro Vargas, CEIP "Santiago el Mayor" of Murcia.

The Ministry of Education, Training and Employment will present the awards to winning schools and students at a public event that will coincide with a day to encourage reading which will present the work done.
