The director of the Institute for Youth, Veronica Lopez, presented the Ninth Regional Youth Participation Fair Youth Zone 2008 to be held in the Plaza de Toros de Lorca and the surrounding area from 17 to 19 October.
A meeting to be attended by 140 youth associations throughout the Region and in which 320 developed cultural activities and leisure.
The presentation ceremony was also attended by the Territorial Director of Public Works of the CAM, Juan José Mouliaá, the council of Youth council of Lorca, Joaquin Ruiz Montalban, Chairman of the Regional Youth Council John David Babyack.
After nine years of operation, Youth Zone has become a meeting and exchange of projects and initiatives between local and regional partnerships that can bring youth association movement, activities and objectives of organizations and youth groups of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
Through "Youth Zone" according to Veronica Lopez said, "young people have the opportunity to learn about the activities of various youth organizations in the region while promoting the participation and partnership."
Since 2006, this meeting comes as travelers visiting different cities in order to reach more youth.
So far it has developed in Cartagena and Molina de Segura.
This fair is unique in that all activities undertaken are organized and managed by themselves participants while the organization provides the means for such actions can be performed.
For three days, associations and institutions coexist very different type, ideology, activities and organizations source as leisure, education, youth policy, labor, religious, student, cultural, environmental, disability, development cooperation, volunteering, social inclusion musical etc ... In this way attendees can participate in all kinds of activities such as live radio, parades, concerts, theater, various workshops, exhibits, jam sessions, awareness, painting, dance, intercultural activities, disability, juggling, film, games role of outdoor, cultural, literature, ghymkhanas, hip hop, graffiti, etc., also will install 120 booths youth organizations with information for young people made by young people.
During the days that will develop young zone, 40 secondary schools in the region will visit this event and is expected to attend other than 35,000 people.
Youth Participation Fair is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism through the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Municipal Institute of City of Lorca Youth, the Youth Council of the Region of Murcia The Youth Council of Lorca and the CAM.
Youth Zone 2008 has a budget of around 180,000 euros, of which the CAM provides 54,000 euros, the city of Lorca and the remaining 26,000 euros, 100,000 euros, the Youth Institute.
