The Councillor for Education and the City University of Lorca, Jose Joaquin Peñarrubia, reported this morning that the Consistory and the Social and Cultural IberCaja have launched a new educational program, which includes free concerts and performances for schoolchildren Primary, secondary and high schools of the municipality during the months of October and November.
Peñarrubia explained that "the objective of this initiative is to complement in a fun and quality teaching programs that are in academia, and contribute to the integral formation of students from 3 to 18 years."
Specifically, during this course are implemented in Lorca two new programs related to theater and music.
On one hand, the concert will provide training for all secondary and high school courses "Flamenco and other Hispanic music," by Iberia, which will take place at IES Ramón Arcas Meca, 22 and 23 October with two daily sessions of 10 to 12 hours, and secondly the puppet play for Primary "Once Upon a Time in Space" from the Sol and Earth, 12, 13 and 14 November in Cultural Center.
With the program "Flamenco and other Hispanic music," Ibercaja aims to develop aesthetic skills of children and young people, and create a hobby in them that will be enriched throughout his life.
In this show, Iberia offers a show that relates the knowledge of the main flamenco styles with other forms of Spanish popular culture, like the Jack, the bulerias, fandangos, tangos ...
delving into the differences and similarities between them, through practical examples and live music.
This action will also be held on Wednesday 23 at a free session open to the public at 20:00 pm in the Auditorium of the IES Ramón Arcas.
