The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, Councillor of Education and City Council Libraries Lorca, Jose Joaquin Peñarrubia, and the Councillor responsible for the hamlet of La Hoya, inaugurated this morning the new Municipal Library in this hamlet, which lies in the Public School Juan Navarro.
The mayor explained that "this act comply with one of our election pledges that this parish would have a Municipal Library, but we're working on opening another in most districts of the municipality."
"In this new educational and cultural facilities, in close collaboration with the Public School Juan Navarro, will be offered to the residents of this hamlet the possibility of having a new dual-use library that meets the needs of Training and Community Info education in school and all the neighbors in the afternoon, from 17:00 to 20:00 hours Monday to Thursday, attended by local library staff, "he added Jódar.
This will open new stores, new furniture and new funds varied, for all audiences, with a total of about 4,000 volumes in both the traditional paper format as the latest audiovisual acquisitions (DVD and CD).
This new city library will have 36 seats for reading, and a pequeteca and media.
The Councillor for Education and Libraries said "in this library, like the rest of the municipal network, there will be activities such as storytelling, ...."
