The government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, this morning the new commissioner of Lorca, Francisco de Paula Garcia Velez, in a ceremony held at the Hotel Jardines de Lorca, of this town, which has benefited from the presence authorities of the Security Forces, and representatives of various municipal organizations such as the Community of Irrigators and the Chamber of Commerce.
In his presentation, the delegate of the government has been the best professional success to the new Commissioner and congratulated the National Police of the Region of Murcia for the increase in the number of crimes solved and detainees.
Tovar Gonzalez recalled the significant increases in staff experienced by the Security Forces of the State in Murcia, with an increase of nearly 50 percent.
In addition, the delegate said that Lorca, the National Police has increased its staff by 39 percent (from 80 agents in 2004 to the current 111), while the Civil Guard has happened in this time of 16 guards to 33 in 2008, a 106 percent increase.
Moreover, the government delegate explained that in addition to the increase in staff by the Ministry of Interior has also committed various budget for 2009 for the start of several regional security centers: € 930,000 for the new police station of El Carmen de Murcia ; 8 million euros for the Green Sangonera CIS, 56.5 million euros to the prison of Campos del Rio and the recently approved investment of 920,000 euros to complete the Center for Foreigners.
