Lorca Mayor Francisco Jodar has handed this morning the President of Caritas Interparroquial, Lazaro Caballero keys of local Caritas Interparroquial of Lorca, to create a food bank in order to help families with insufficient means of face basic needs due to the situation of recession in modern Spain
The above location is situated in the Barrio de Los Angeles de Lorca, measuring 100 m2 and is intended to store food items and essentials to people at high risk of social exclusion.
This assignment is contained within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between the Autonomous Community of Murcia, through the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the town of Lorca, through the Municipal Council of Social Services for year 2008 developing activities for reception and integration of immigrants and educational support, and associated to the reception area.
