The mayor of Economics of the City of Lorca, Antonio Ibarra, has reported that the city council expected to finance economic recovery plan could be approved by City Council, if no unforeseen last minute during the month of January.
Ibarra stated that the city council this week sent a series of additional information requested by the Ministry of Economy, through the Directorate General of Local Finance Territorial Coordination to complete their documentation.

In this sense we anticipate that once we get final approval from Madrid, will take place for the extraordinary plenary session will approve the budget for 2009.
Councilman Economy explained that, in fact, until the Sanitation Plan not get the nod, we are working with the 2008 extended, a fact that has happened with previous corporations in this City.
Ibarra recalled that the City is bound by the Budgetary Stability Law, in particular by Article 10.2, as well as by Article 19 of Royal Decree 1463/2007 that develops, the implementation of a sanitation plan.
This measure is motivated by the gap of 16 billion inherited from the previous administration, said in a report of the Comptroller of the Consistory.
One of the requirements imposed by the Ministry of Economy for approval of this plan is to reduce the budget of the Municipality of Lorca in 2009 by 40% compared to the previous determination that is motivated, as previously announced this mayor of Economics before both calls to the media and in plenary sessions of the City, by the fact that the numbers had budgets of previous administrations were only a fiction, were fully inflated and made up and are now going to be adequate to reality.
