The Councillor for Social Services, Employment and Local Development of the City of Lorca, Lali Ibarra has reported that about 300 students from four schools in the districts of Lorca will benefit from the tutoring program PAIDOS and three workshops cultural entertainment program 'Aula III'.
Specifically, the City has hired two teachers, who will be responsible for strengthening the training of school students Juan Gonzalez, San Cristobal, Casa del Niño and Andrés García Soler.
In these same centers, five monitors develop leisure activities through the implementation of the workshops "Flamenco for Children, Drama, Choir and musical activities, which have been demanded by the educational community of schools.
PAIDOS project is part of all proposals submitted to the Urban Initiative for the Barrios Altos de Lorca, to be co-financed by ERDF and the city of Lorca.
This project is part of the eight subject areas that make up this macro comprehensive rehabilitation plan for this area of the city, specifically in the thematic area 1: Promoting social integration and equal opportunities, subsection 1.1: Development education plans and integrated and customized training for disadvantaged groups.
Lali Ibarra has stressed the importance of these social activities, with which it aims to reduce school dropout in this area of the city.
"These children are the future of the districts and Lorca, so it is important to continue their studies, so that the future can open a good career path," added the Alderman.
For its part, the project 'Aula III' is part II of PIBAL Program, which aims at social integration and cohesion of citizens belonging to the area of the Comprehensive Plan for the Barrios Altos de Lorca (PIBAL).
All these activities, which are free of charge, have started this week and will be developed throughout the course, finishing in a sample of flamenco, drama and choir open to the public.
The Councillor for Social Services and Local Development explained that "with performances like this is to raise the self esteem of these children, helping them learn and grow also in the fields of art in a fun way."
The 'Aula III' has been supported by the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment of the Autonomous Region with 11,874 euros.
Lali Ibarra returned to thank the Government for its continued support to regional funding for projects Lorca, in addition to the directors of the schools help in these city programs.
