The Emergency Services of the Municipality of Lorca, had to intervene during the past weekend up in nineteen occasions, due to the strong winds that hit the township on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th January.
The time interval between 7:50 am and 14:33 on Saturday, was the highest incidences time slot, for a total of 16 incidents occurred during that space.
The fall of two palm trees that smashed some vehicles, falling branches blocking roads and collapsing fences and plates were the objects that caused more problems.
On Sunday the wind died down and the operations of the Emergency Service were lower, reducing them to a tree branch falling on the Ctra Caravaca and objects in Santo Domingo and La Alberca.
A total of 25 staff and 5 cars have been part of these proceedings, in addition to the messages broadcast from the city information panels, which have informed advice to follow citizens in times of temporary gusty winds.
