The town of Lorca added from 2010 to its wide range of cultural tourism, sun and beach, rural, environmental and gastronomic an important attraction for tourism Golf and Spa, with the opening of Lorca Resort.
The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, the Director General of Tourism, Angel Campos and Alze Group President, Juan Manuel Dalmau, presented this morning, this new resort in the International Tourism Fair of Madrid.
Lorca Resort is being built between the historic town of Lorca and Aguilas coast, with plans to open the great golf course with 27 holes designed by David Thomas and Jorge Soler, for spring 2010.
Jódar stressed that the "Lorca thus expanding your target audience will see the national and international visitors this type of tourism products, such as British and Dutch, who are convinced that not only enjoy our good weather, but also our heritage and our great shopping and leisure. "
"The importance of tourism is that virtually no seasonality, the average daily expenditure being higher than that of sun and beach tourist," added the Mayor.
Another factor to consider now, is the investment of more than 300 million euros, generating more than 1,000 jobs directly and indirectly, and including the first five-star hotels of the city.
