More applications than ever to participate in Expoflora-lorca'09 and XXV European Congress of Bonsai and Suiseki (06/02/2009)

EXPOFLORES-LORCA'09 already confirmed as the Fair Biannual Cut Flowers, Ornamental Plants and Related Murcia Region is creating higher expectations, exceeding initial projections, according to data which have to date.

At the request of the largest index of exhibitors from different parts of Spain and from different countries with a tradition producer, who wish to present the latest and most advanced to date, add the great demand for experts and related, one way or Otherwise, in the field of Bonsai and Suiseki, as is known, held in Lorca, as activity meant EXPOFLORES importance within its XXV European Congress on 6, 7 and 8 March next.

For this purpose, include the major collapse occurred in booking hotel rooms in our city unable to meet the proven demand, surpassing the current number of 300 exhibitors and delegates from across Europe who wish to attend this event which takes place in Spain and for the first time in Lorca, city chosen after competing with other applicants populations.

The deadline for Congress registration remains open until the start of it, so it is expected to reach the figure of 500 participants which shall provide for overnight stays outside our city limits.

The appeal of this Congress, to the public, focuses on the extensive exposure of Bonsai and Suiseki that may be considered during the 3 days, some unique pieces in the world to their owners, as members of this Congress will gladly give for general exposure.

Precisely these Congress-exhibitors a special importance the presence of Luis Vallejo García-Maurino, the only European who has been awarded by the Government of Japan with the ORDER OF THE RISING SUN "RAYS OF GOLD AND SILVER" the highest award granted in that country and whose ceremony took place last December.

As merits which demonstrate that the award highlights the dedication and knowledge of bonsai art, art that is part of Japanese culture and its dissemination throughout Europe and Spain.

Mr. Vallejo, commissioned by the then President Felipe Gonzalez government, assumed responsibility in its day, the design and construction of a bonsai museum in the Palacio de la Moncloa, which still remains.
