The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, will meet on February 17 in Madrid with the CEO of Holcim Spain, Alain Bourguignon, a meeting which the mayor Lorca goes with the aim of defending the plant maintenance and Lorca of their workers.
Jódar actually met this morning, again, with the works council, who has passed that clarity and transparency to ask the leaders of Holcim in this topic to make it clear that this plant will not close.
In this sense, Lorca Mayor noted that this meeting will review and will enforce the actions that the City Council has done to benefit the plant of this company and have been the licensing of the plant and some of its quarries, and certain issues of urban planning that the plant needed.
Since Holcim Works Committee have been forwarded to Prime Edil concern off the oven and the consequences in the particular circumstances in which we live.
The workers have said they need assurances that the plant will close, as they have already dispensed with some subsidiary companies.
They have also pointed out that the quality of plant production is the highest lorquina and, despite the current crisis, this plant is still profitable and yielding benefits.
