The Ministry of Health has reported the death of a person in a fire this afternoon at the hospital Rafael Méndez de Lorca.
The deceased is a patient who was admitted to the hospital, 46 years old, who was in the affected room.
The fire originated this afternoon in the area of Internal Medicine, located on the first floor, and place troops moved firehouse Lorca, who proceeded to extinction.
The Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios, accompanied by the secretary general of the Ministry, José Luis Gil, and the managing director of Health Service of Murcia, José Manuel Allegan, are visiting the hospital, who also attended the local mayor, Francisco Jodar.
In the plant where the fire originated were 34 inpatients and seven workers.
From the first moment he activated the mechanisms under the emergency plan and proceeded to the evacuation of all patients of the plant on fire, without registering any bearing on the rest of the hospital.
Likewise, strengthened hospital management services and non-medical health personnel, to address the situation.
Several teams of the center is responsible for managing the transfer to other hospitals in the region of the patients in this plant.
So instead of the fire also moved troops from Municipal Emergency Services of Lorca, with three vehicles and six volunteers, as well as several units of the local police and Guardia Civil.
Following the emergency plans, a protocol was established for the disposal outside the hospital compound, where 45 ambulances attended Murcia Health Service, five and three Red Cross Emergency Medical Units (EMU) to support care .
