With the aim of spreading the values of individual people with disabilities in social, work and sports, the Spanish Paralympic Committee and the Banesto Cultural Foundation Lorca bring the documentary "The theory of spiral", which will be screened for ESO students of IES Ramón Arcas Meca on Friday 17 at 12.30.
This activity has the support of the Municipal Institute of Sports and Games (IMJUDE) and participates in the same sports councilor of the consistory Lorca, Francisco Montiel.
In the film, which narrates the personal experiences of athletes Sara Carracelas (cerebral palsy, swimming), Teresa Perales (physical disability, swimming), Rachel Acinas (physical disability, cycling), Eva Ngui (visually impaired, athletics) and Cristina Campos (physical disability, basketball), it tries to present the adapted sport from a sociological perspective, focusing on the values of the Paralympic Movement brings to people and society in general.
But not only physical or psychological barriers are treated in the same, but also the handicaps encountered by sexism are treated the same.
Similarly, during the event will introduce the book "The spiral theory" held a symposium with the participation of authorities and experts in sports, where they will discuss the achievements of Paralympic the employment of people with disabilities and personal relations with the gender factor as core.
Councilman Sports, Francisco Montiel, stressed the importance of activities like this, since "through sport we can remove the walls of discrimination, goals and turn dreams into reality."
Similarly, Montiel has emphasized the work of the Paralympic athletes "with their efforts, show that there are different, sometimes even superior to any other, because they have most importantly, a tremendous will to fight" .
