The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, has joined the initiative today to volunteer for more than 60 years working together to regulate traffic at the outputs of Lorca colleges under the program 'The Back to School ', with the aim of ensuring the safety of school crosswalks.
Bascuñana, who was present at the passage of Mothers Mercedarias College, explained that "this activity is one of many in which they can participate seniors who want to still feel useful to the community and providing a great service that benefits the most small. "
This activity is framed within the program promoted by the Directorate General of Immigration and the Department Volunteer and Volunteer Development Plan 'Lorca X All', involved people over 60 who have received general training on volunteerism, as well a more specific charge of the local police on traffic control and safety.
Therefore, he added that "it is a work that can also strengthen ties between different generations and also create emotional ties very important."
The work of volunteers, aided by the Municipal Police, aims to ensure the safety of school children in the inputs and outputs of schools.
Currently participating in this pioneering activity in the region, 15 people who are scattered in the center of the city of Lorca and villages.
