The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and Social Policy Adviser, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, has introduced the new Day Centre for older people is to be built in the district of Puri.
This is a Day Care Center which will seat fifty, whose construction was carried out on a piece of equipment with an area of nearly 12,000 m2 with 4,500 m2 for other parking areas and landscaped areas, located in Residencial Torre del Obispo.
It is an ideal location because it is very well connected, and around which there is a golf driving range and extensive landscaped garden areas.
It so happens that, according to data provided by the Municipal Council of Social Services are pending in the County of Puri and around more than 180 cases of home help, which makes abundantly clear the appropriateness of putting into operation in Center Pedanía that these characteristics.
The above infrastructure will require an investment of over one million euros, much of which about 700,000 are from the Plan E €, € 120,000 from a grant from the Ministry of Women and Migration Social Policy while at the City Council is working with the contribution of the land on which will rise and whose memory facilities amounting to € 242,340.
The objectives of Day Care Center are to promote decent conditions of life among older people dependent, providing the continuity of their lifestyles and achieve a higher level of personal autonomy and prevent the increasing reliance by rehabilitative and therapeutic interventions, and establish an appropriate framework in which to develop rewarding relationships and social activities for older people.
Furthermore, it aims to complete decentralization of health and social services to elders and help the families of older people dependent on aid for the care of these people, allowing greater compatibility between work activity and the family.
The services offered by this Centre are on Healthcare, Food Service and Nutrition, fitness and physiotherapy, social care, occupational therapy and Transportation Services.
The building that will house this infrastructure will be a modern building of 950 m2 which is distributed entirely on the ground floor, presenting no architectural barriers and in accordance with the requirements of the local regulations for these types of facilities.
Its large floor above ground comprising the following program requirements:
AREA WELFARE AND HEALTH: Fitness, toilets, clothing and medical supplies.
MULTI AREA: Multipurpose Room.
RELAXATION AREA: Living and dining on patios come in a manner supportive social relationships.
SERVICE AREA: Technical Services, maintenance and administration offices.
