The Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios, today visited Lorca to hold a briefing with the mayor, Francisco Jodar, on health care situation Lorca area.

Palacios announced a global plan of investment in health infrastructure exclusively for Lorca that includes, among other things, conversion of the former Hospital of Santa Rosa de Lima in a High Resolution Integrated Center and renovation of health center-center Lorca.
Health provides for the comprehensive renewal of the Downtown Santa Rosa de Lima in order to reassess this landmark building that has great medical potential accessibility and quality service.
The emergency center would have high-resolution x-ray, laboratory and specialized consultations.
The Minister said the investment in new infrastructure in Lorca is and will remain very important.

Investment in health infrastructure
The Ministry intends to publish shortly in the BORM the tendering of the works for the new Health Centre Sutullena Lorca, so that the new infrastructure would begin to be built before the end of this year.
The project envisages that the center has a floor area of 6,647 meters square, the planned total investment is 7.4 million euros and will have capacity to deliver health care to a population of 20,000.
To do so would have 11 family medicine clinics, three of Pediatrics, one of Dentistry, a dental hygienist, 11 nursing consultations, including two children, and five function rooms, as well as areas of Physiotherapy, attention to women and emergencies, which would have three queries.
The project also envisages the building hosting the base unit 061 on Lorca.
On the other hand, will soon begin service Mental Health Center of Lorca, in the construction and endowment has invested 2.8 million euros.
The building has a total constructed area of 2.309 square meters, which is spread over three floors.
The new center consists of two distinct and independent units, but coordinated with each other: one is the Mental Health Center where attention is given to adults, children and youth and will also address conditions related to drug addiction, and a second-Hospital Rehabilitation Unit Psychiatric Day, located on the first floor, where you can care for about 60 patients with severe mental illness on an outpatient basis, with hours from 9 am to 5 pm.
