The managing director of the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region of Murcia (IVS), Jane Brown, today visited the social housing estates on lease the Community has in the municipality of Lorca, a total of 76 public buildings to promote that the IVS has property in the neighborhoods of San Pedro and San Diego, and on the street Cañada Morales.
During the event, Brown said that "this type of visit is performed to verify in situ the living conditions of the regional public park, with the intention of keeping in good condition this property."
In this regard, the managing director noted that as the owner of these homes IVS "regularly attend requests for repairs, since they are leased, besides allocating sometimes extraordinary items to more substantial rehabilitation."
The director stressed the importance of cooperation between regional and local administration to stop a possible deterioration of the house "through which we carry out regular technical supervision in all municipalities, which allows us to identify investment priorities for action to improve public park regional housing. "
He reminded that it is already a reality for future construction of approximately 20 homes protected, regardless of age, in the street transformer, whose plot is currently in the bidding process.
He also expressed his desire to collaborate with the City in the creation of new social housing for those lower income families, in a lot that the session may yield to the IVS.
Finally, Brown said he is already running the Repair Plan which, driven by Executive Murcia, involves an investment of 1.8 million to rehabilitate 900 homes over the public park that the IVS has in Cartagena, La Unión, Abarán , Caravaca, Cehegín, Cieza, Molina and Puerto Lumbreras.
Castaño recalled that "this will help to revive public works, which is crucial to mitigate the effects of economic crisis, as envisaged in the Plan of Revitalization of regional government."
Finally, the Director recalled that in the town of Lorca has made several investments in housing, such as earthquake aid, both for rent and to rebuild and purchase of manufactured homes, which exceeded 12 million.
