The rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, today signed an agreement with the city of Lorca for the creation of a permanent university extension University of Murcia in this county.
This extension, which will permanently host the former Captain's House infantry barracks' Sancho Dávila, now under restoration, will serve as the setting for courses, seminars, exhibitions and conferences organized by the University of Murcia.
University extension will be led by historian Juan Francisco Jimenez, professor at the University of Murcia and Director of Medieval Studies Center (CEM) of Lorca, also dependent on the university.
Thus, said Cobacho, Murcia University strengthens its presence in Lorca, by adding the university extension to EMC, the largest classroom, the courses of the Universidad del Mar and the Center for Economic Studies.
