The Director of Fine Arts, Enrique Ujaldón, accompanied by the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, today inaugurated the exhibition 'Lorca, Sefarad Lights', which includes ten historic documents and 90 archaeological pieces, mostly the result of the excavations Lorca and the castle will remain in the Hall of the City of Lorca Selgas until September 27.
The exhibition, which opened last January in the Archaeological Museum of Murcia, including the most significant pieces found in the Jewish quarter of Lorca (about 85), along with original documents from the Archives of Lorca, facsimile files Murcia, National Historical General de Simancas, and Roman era parts found in the coastal cities of Cartagena, Aguilas and Puerto de Mazarrón, from local archaeological museums of these locations.
The objects and documents that are displayed are organized into five thematic areas related to the exhibition: The Jews in Spain: from its origins to his expulsion, the border town of Lorca, Lorca castellated Jewry; Janukká, Party lights, and the synagogue in Lorca.
The exhibition will travel to the 'Casa Sefarad Israel' of Madrid, and then travel to the 'American Sephardi' in New York.
