The mayor of the Municipality of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, met with members of the Accessibility Committee of the Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities Murcia Physical and Organic Chemistry, FAMDIF / COCEMFE-Murcia, to see first hand the cooperation agreement on accessibility is being promoted from the Federation to all municipalities in the region.
The meeting also participated Eulalia Ibarra, Councillor of Social Services consistory Lorca, who provided information on the current situation of the association of physically disabled Lorca, and that no agency of the municipality has yet formed part of the Federation.
Emilio Cano and Maria Angeles Riquelme, representatives of FAMDIF at the meeting, showed in a report the details of this agreement, which aims to advise and report on those aspects relating to the removal of architectural barriers, public funding sources, construction supervision, and to promote training and information actions in terms of accessibility from Municipal Accessibility Plan in the municipality of Lorca, in order to achieve the goal of full integration of the disability sector.
For its part, the City of Lorca, through the agreement would establish ties of cooperation with FAMDIF to achieve the objectives and allow a better development of the actions included in the agreement and inform their centers and services to give it the widest possible distribution.
This Convention is of great importance in the interest of ensuring that all municipalities in the region there is a unit of performance criteria for accessibility, which conforms to current regulations, both the projects and the implementation of works .
