The Governing Council has approved a grant of 269,871 euros to the city of Lorca for the construction of a disinfection of vehicles transporting livestock by road in the deputation of Barranco Hondo in this county.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Water, under the Plan for Prevention of Animal Health, the implementation capacity of public facilities such as slaughter houses and laundries, and private company specific groups of livestock and livestock health protection and regulates the construction aid and upgrading of disinfection facilities and vehicles for road transport in the livestock sector.
The Region of Murcia has a total of 9,021 farms according to the Register of farms, of which 45 percent are located between the regions of Upper and Lower Guadalentín, home to the District Agricultural Office of Lorca as a producer, and Alhama Murcia and Lorca as centers of localization of major slaughterhouses in the region.
