The director general of tourism infrastructure, Marina Garcia, recently chaired the Governing Board of the Consortium for the Development of Tourism and Cultural de Lorca.
The agency has reviewed the status of the works, amounting to 275,671 euros, are running for the presidency in the municipality.
Investments and improvements made in the first half of 2009 consisted of an audiovisual installation in Torre del Ram, the enlargement of the interior lighting in the Fortress of the Sun, the installation of video surveillance in the exhibition in the Visitor Center Convento de la Merced and in the Fortaleza del Sol, as well as renovation of the stables in the Fort and the restoration of the wall of the tenon.
The investments also included the installation of a system for energy efficiency within the exhibitions of the Fortress of the Sun and the Visitor Center, excavation and archaeological survey of the area east of the castle of Lorca (sector 1.1) and modification project 'Time Machine'.
The Consortium has established itself over the years as a tool for cultural facility that supports the activities organized in the city and as a generator of new proposals for the enjoyment of citizens and visitors.
