The aldermen of the City Water and Agriculture of Lorca, Melchor Morales and Angel Mecca, have shown the support of the Municipal Government Team to the demands of farmers and the demonstration that the major agricultural unions have called for 21 November in Madrid.
Morales stressed that "the Municipal Government has always been and will be in the hands of the farmers Lorca and therefore will be present at the protest promoted by COAG and UPA Asaja."
Councillors have stressed that "the increase of VAT imposed by the government of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero will only worsen the situation that has engulfed our productive sector."
Mecca pointed out that "Lorca is playing a lot with this event, because the agricultural sector is road to ruin, in the absence of solutions and increased barriers placed by the Central Government, so we invite citizens to join it. "
