The Municipal Group Socialist deputy spokesman, Francisco Ruiz Alviar, reported today that about the end of the year, the Municipal Council of Social Services and the Councillor responsible, Eulalia Ibarra, have not yet published the call for projects for NGOs 2009.
Alviar Ruiz said that it is a party of around 45,000 euros which traditionally have been financed by the municipality some 50 projects for 20 NGOs working towards the most disadvantaged sectors of society and Lorca that "Ibarra is giving back."
The socialist mayor said that situation is exacerbated because neither has announced the convening of Immigration funds the Autonomous Region for local projects.
In this regard, stressed the lack of interest in Ibarra, especially in an economic situation "very difficult for thousands of families in our town."
Alviar Ruiz said many social organizations are being forced to suspend operations for lack of financial support of the government team.
He added that these NGOs were already "touched" because the City Council this year reduced to 20% the budget allocated to this area.
Moreover, the socialist deputy spokesman pointed out that the result of the second edition of Plan E, the socialist government of Spain devoted to Lorca ten million euros, of which "20% can be spent on current expenditure related to the Social Services .
Therefore, the Socialist leader asked Ibarra "restore the economic capacity of these organizations under the Plan E 2010 and at the same time, publish, so urgent call for projects for this year."
