We meet today's Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lorca to celebrate this happy annual gala in which employers and employees bring together a well deserved awards for their dedication and good work in the commercial world Lorca.
And as always, we must thank the House to make a day like this in which gives us the opportunity to meet entrepreneurs, groups, social partners and government representatives to discuss the past, present and future local economy.
But before addressing any of these questions, we need to make a sincere congratulations to the House in this his night, for the work undertaken by its members for every day of the year, promoting local businesses and entrepreneurs by offering those mechanisms needed to be more efficient in its management.
But above all, on an evening like this we must congratulate the House for its strong desire to reward each year to individuals and groups who really deserve this recognition.
Today we know that the winners do not need this distinction, which do their work because they believe in it, and that will continue to strive to be the best in their field.
However, in today's world, a world in which we tend to forget very easily, it is imperative that we make exercises like tonight, and we are able to remember, thank and, especially, for example taking aspire to be better.
We never should hurt when clothes honor those who really deserve it and, therefore, I again congratulate the Chamber of Commerce each year to continue rewarding the best careers.
Congratulations, because recognizing the best also makes you better than you.
Since congratulatory talk, I want to make this evening a very special and sincere congratulations.
A greeting that today, being assembled in this award, I have to do that, well, I do.
On this night I want to congratulate all the businessmen and businesswomen, all workers in our town and all who conform with the commercial and business sector in the region.
We live in very difficult times, we know.
We are suffering a crisis that strikes furiously at every level that make up the national society.
Conducted in recent months a journey through the desert that is lasting much longer than we would like.
But in this situation, I have to congratulate the entrepreneurs and workers in the region, because you are making a tremendous effort to remain standing and will face the crisis.
The Lorca we decided that we will not be stopped, waiting for the crisis to drag us.
We decided that we will fight against the current and I, for the effort you are making, I congratulate you.
I know the effort you are doing is painful.
I know it's costing you to hold the virulence of the crisis, but I also know that each day that passes is less out of it.
Because today I want to be positive.
Many already know me and know that precaution in me is linked to the truth as a manager.
You know that I tend to be as wise as honest.
And today, with such sincerity that characterizes me, I am optimistic.
Perhaps you may wonder at times that are positive, and that can take a message of hope.
But this, this optimism is because I believe in Lorca.
Throughout the ancient history of our city we have lived many worse situations and we have always followed forward, growing again, once again being the best.
If we are reborn many times, why do not we do it again now?
Why should we stand by?
Why we will not emerge before the crisis?
I, I tell you again, I trust in Lorca.
I know it can cost us look beyond the day to day, especially when we are edging more and more problems and more difficulties.
But the future is coming, slowly, yes, but also with determination, do not forget, and that future will find the light at the end of the tunnel, the calm that everything is bathed when it clears.
And when that future arrives the Lorca will be ready to return to being the best and to our economy, not the same as before, but better.
We must be prepared for that moment, because the big games to be played back then, and those who are in better shape will be those who get to claim victory.
And you, the businessmen and businesswomen in the region are going to be prepared.
Because you are showing during these months you have cruel slaughter capacity, who are able to strive and work hard to survive, you think not surrender.

I trust you and, of course, I do not give up, much less, but the bad times, like you, make me stronger.
As Mayor I know that the people of Lorca are going through very bad now.
I would like to have a buoyant local economy and sound to help you as you deserve.
But despite having inherited a lamentable economic situation, the City Council with Lorca are now offering our full support and, more importantly, showing this support with facts.
I could talk about investment in public works, since the Municipal Investment Plan this year we are investing over 55 million euros to refurbish those parts of Lorca and districts most in need, through economic funds local, regional national and European, which will improve our town at the same time create employment.
I could talk about taxes and municipal taxes that have frozen this year.
While many government, many municipalities and even the National Government raise taxes and create new fees, we have frozen in Lorca urban rates, capital gains, registration, operation of facilities, construction, waste, water, sewer , reaching the 19 charges that make up the municipal taxation.
And, with that same intention not to further weigh down the economies of the Lorca family, we have lowered the seal of the car one and a half, which will benefit 66,000 taxpayers.
This drop is attached to the already performed in 2,007 and I can assure you that my intention and the government team that I lead is to keep taxes down everything we can.
Because, if in times of crisis we have frozen and municipal taxes down, what can we do when the economy returns to be okay?
The answer is easy: keep going down.
But beyond these issues is something that I consider fundamental to our town and the entire region of Guadalentín, as is attracting major investments to our land, investments that we can all benefit, enhancing our industrial nature, and allowing trade in large magnitude.
The result of this most important objective is the installation of Noksel in Lorca, a solid and fruitful industry, in a few months, start working, bringing jobs and prosperity, opening new frontiers of marketing, promoting entrepreneurship Lorca and allowing the business to benefit from the installation of the Turkish industrial giant.
And also come from the desire to attract investment to our region the many efforts aimed at the ZEIC, the Special Zone of Chinese investment, is a reality in the future in the medium and long term.
Some have said I'm telling tall tales, blowing smoke, deceiving the public.
What do you want me to say?
If you find a record investment for the city, when attempting to build a bridge from Spain we trade with the world's greatest emerging power, if you do everything possible to be built in Lorca an economic space that will be a global benchmark is smoke, welcome is that smoke.
Because it may be, as in the Indian media, a message.
A clear and resounding message to the future.
A message that says, in Lorca, we are prepared for anything.
Some people have doubts about this investment spectacular, and is normal.
Some believe that the ZEIC is "a little too ambitious" and that "it is too much to Lorca."
One thing I want to say, nothing great can come to Lorca, because we have everything to cope with any project, however large, to be ambitious.
And I, do not you be no doubt, as mayor and as a neighbor I will support any investment intended to benefit our city.
It is true that today we see Lorca far this infrastructure, we have some doubts.
It is also true that there are times in life we have to catch the train with all our desire, we do not know if you will pass another in the same direction with the same benefit.
I am not prepared to wonder after a while "what if ...?" And as I am not willing, I will do everything in my power to get the ZEIC, Special Zone is a Chinese Investment reality.
Lorca because he deserves it, because Lorca is the ideal location.
As you can see, I have every reason to look forward with optimism, as I think you also have to do it.
Because, out of this situation, to recover as above, we have an ally Lorca estate, which also joins us tonight.
And is that our Regional President, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, has proven time and again its commitment to entrepreneurship Murcia.
He and his Council of Government, are the best guarantees of future for the Region of Murcia, with him because we know that our region has grown to levels never before suspected, and will continue to grow its management and the efforts of all Murcia .
