The Full Council of Lorca unanimously adopted a joint motion of the three political groups represented municipal (PP, PSOE and IU + Greens) for which solidarity with all women who suffer domestic violence and their families, especially their children, pledging to continue working towards the eradication of this scourge, as it is a violation of human rights and greater discrimination and violation of the right to equality under the Constitution to us all and Spanish each of the citizens of our country.

The Corporation has also expressed his full readiness to cooperate with national and regional government of Murcia to develop and implement measures to eradicate violence against women, calling for it to the governments mentioned means and resources.

The agreement provides that the city of Lorca from the field will continue to promote local awareness and prevention activities to achieve the total rejection of violence perpetrated against women.

This text also urges the Government of Argentina to continue to implement expeditiously the Comprehensive Urgent Measures against gender violence.

In this sense, the House calls for an increase, even more, the material and personal and social resources, as well as the autonomous regions and municipalities have more support for the full development, implementation and enforcement of Act 4 / 2004 of December 28, Integral Protection Measures against Gender Violence.

The motion also makes a request to the National Government to increase the number of police officers dedicated exclusively to the care of women victims of violence, and say encouraging specific training to ensure a permanent and personalized attention, and the increase of courts specializing in gender violence, providing them with the necessary human and material resources to operate effectively.

Finally, the city of Lorca calls to different government (national and regional) to continue promoting education in values based on respect for fundamental rights and freedoms and equality between women and men as well as to continue watching to ensure that all audiovisual media to ensure a realistic picture of the skills and potential of women and men, preventing, in any case, and sexist stereotyping of women.

Also asked the National Government and the Government of the Region of Murcia to continue with the implementation of policies to eliminate gender violence.

This motion has been prepared following the commemoration on 25 November the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
