The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, today made the first stone of Day Care Center (CED) of the deputation lorquina of Puri, with capacity to serve 49 people dependent, ten of them affected by Alzheimer's or other dementias.
The new CED, which is built on land donated by the City in Torre del Obispo Puri, provide services such as health care, food and nutrition, fitness and physical therapy, occupational therapy and transportation.
The new facility will allow users to achieve a higher level of personal autonomy, prevent increased dependence rehabilitative and therapeutic interventions, develop relationships and social activities among older people and allow the reconciliation of working life of the family.
The cost of the works, which have a deadline of five months, amounting to 850,000 euros and will be financed by the Ministry of Health and Social Policy, the Autonomous Community, and the city of Lorca.
The Murcia Region currently has a total of 938 public spaces for seniors in Day Care Services, of which 289 are for people with Alzheimer's, 375 and 563 are themselves subsidized spaces.
