The Minister of Presidency and Public Administration, María Pedro Reverte, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, today placed the first stone of the new Comprehensive Security Center Lorca, which will house the services of local police and Civil Protection of the municipality and enter service late next year.
The work that begins today with a budget of execution of three million euros, provided entirely by the Autonomous Community, which provides for the construction of three separate buildings on a plot of 11,310 meters square and municipal property located in the Round south of the town.
The facility, which will have capacity to accommodate over 200 people in the law enforcement and emergency services in different shifts, will have a basement, ground floor and two heights, divided by 6,000 square meters.
The project has a design of open spaces to facilitate police activity both in training and in management and administration.
Comprehensive Security Center will have a shooting gallery, an indoor parking for police cars and civil protection, and one external to the public.
The Minister stressed that this action "responds to needs raised by the City Council to provide police and emergency service to the citizens best."
Another five police stations
The Ministry of the Presidency and government has allocated 550,000 euros this year other municipality of Lorca for the construction of two separate territorial centers and Ramonete Purias security and improving the adequacy and three other municipal service centers in the districts of city La Hoya, and Zarcilla Almendricos Palm, for Lorca Local Police, which currently has a workforce of 148 local police officers, 40 were assigned to the Regional Public Safety Plan.
